Dale Hayes Golf Events is an exclusive golf events management company which was started up over 20 years ago and is owned and managed by PGA Professionals Joseph Phiri, Dale Hayes and Ivano Ficalbi along with Kate Simmons - our dedicated Event & General Manager. At Dale Hayes Golf Events we are passionate about the organisation and staging of world class golfing events. We believe that our wide variety of skill sets and long-time involvement in the industry provides a firm foundation on which to create a highly successful event.  

• Ivano Ficalbi is one of the few fully qualified Royal & Ancient Rules Referees in South Africa and manages all Rules queries for SuperGolf, Compleat Golfer Magazine and the Golf Chat Newsletter. During his time of employment at the Sun City Resort, Ivano was involved in the organisation and staging of one of South Africa’s Majors – The Nedbank Golf Challenge. Although he is now the acting CEO of the PGA of SA and not directly involved in the day to day running DHGE, his expertise in this field are still readily called upon. 

• Joseph Phiri began his career in golf as a caddy at Sun City and quickly progressed through the ranks from Course Marshall to Golf Director for the Sun City Resort. His attention to detail and understanding of the behind the scenes at a golf club allows for a smooth and well managed golf event at any golf club in the country. 

• Dale Hayes, known as Mr Golf in South Africa is a passionate ambassador of golf. Hayes won the 15-17 Boys category at the Junior World Golf Championships in 1969 and turned Pro the following year. He won more than a dozen events in South Africa and had a successful golfing career abroad. In 1971 he won the Spanish Open at the age of 18 years became the youngest winner on the European Tour - a record which stood until 2005. Since leaving the golfing circuit Dale has been actively involved in many aspects of golf in South Africa but his passion lies within the staging of golf events, public speaking and golf development in South Africa.

•  After obtaining her B.Com degree in Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Pretoria Kate Simmons began her career as an Event Co-ordinator and quickly progressed up the ranks to Event Manager and now General Manager of Dale Hayes Golf Events. Her creativity and attention to detail form the foundation on which a truly unique event is built and along with her passion for people ensures that all guests are treated like VIP’s.

Dale Hayes Golf Events is BEE accredited and is certified through Heritage SA as a green company working towards sustainable environmental events.

Developing the game has always been a passion here at Dale Hayes Golf Events and as well as having our own Social Responsibility program with the Department of Correctional Services known as Golf Wise, we also sponsor a series of Junior Golf Events across South Africa in conjunction with Glacier by Sanlam known as the Glacier Junior Series – www.glacierjuniorseries.co.za
